A roundup of 2021 news and releases not already covered on RISCOSitory With 2021 now behind us, the time has come for one final round up of news that hasn’t already found its way onto onto these pages – although this time, in fact, it’s the only round up of such news for 2021; for 2020, a snippets post appeared half way through the year and then another just after the year ended – but no earlier post has been compiled for 2021.

Read MoreAndré Timmermans has released new versions of DigitalCD (version 3.11), TimPlayer (1.26) and DiskSample (0.55). The changes to DigitalCD are mainly bug fixes, but the updates to both TimPlayer and DiskSample include additional changes, such as the ability to play RAW CD files in the latter, and improved and expanded loaders in the former. In addition, André has also released version 0.04 of EmulTim, a collection of sound modules that are “emulated through calls to the TimPlayer module” with the goal of allowing their use (with some limitations) on versions…

DigitalCD is a desktop music player for all versions of RISC OS from 3.1 on, providing control panels for any CD drives connected to the computer, and any internet radio and music file playlists – with a very wide variety of supported music formats, from the more obvious MP3, Flac and Ogg Vorbis, through to many ‘tracker’ formats.
