Fred Graute has released a new version of ToggleBD, a utility to raise the desktop backdrop to the front so that objects pinned to it are more easily accessible than by minimising windows and/or moving them around in order to find that pinned item. Using its iconbar icon, or a configurable hot-key combination, the backdrop can be both raised and lowered, so once you’ve found and used that pinned item, it’s quick and easy to return to your original task.

Oops, sorry, I meant released under a three clause licence. Silly me. Fred Graute has released a new version of StrongHelp with some changes not only to the software, but also to the licence under which it is available – now the three-clause BSD licence. The software is designed to be a simple hypertext system, and considering its original release was at least twenty four years ago it has certainly proven the test of time, and remains a popular method of distributing manuals with RISC OS software.

Fred Graute has released a new version of StrongHelp, the simple hypertext system for designing and reading on-screen manuals, help texts, etc. The software dates back to a time when the world wide web, and HTML, was largely unknown1, and provided a neat way for software developers – particularly small companies and hobby programmers, who might not have had the resources to produce full-blown manuals – to include manuals with their software that were something more than just text files.

Fred Graute has released a new version of StrongHelp, a small hypertext program which can be used for displaying manuals, help documents, and anything else that will benefit from the individual pages being interlinked, with everything held in a single file. Changes in version 2.88 include fixes for a few more ARMv7 issues, a more logical order for items on the icon bar menu, a bug when deleting groups of twenty or more files has been fixed, and more.
