Southwest Show – final round up of pre-show news

As the countdown until this year’s Southwest Show ticks over into the final twenty four hours – the show takes place tomorrow, Saturday, 22nd February at the Arnos Manor Hotel in Bristol – a few press releases and announcements have found their way to me. A new version of Organizer, the – no, THE – personal information manager for RISC OS, will be launched at the London Show, which takes place tomorrow. The headline feature in this new version is the ability to password protect the application, and to encrypt your data – adding a level of data security that those wishing to access their data from a cloud-based storage location. Announcement from Organizer, 25th February, 2016. New version of Organizer on a Stick at the Southwest Show. Organizer, the personal information manager for all RISC OS platforms, will be launching an updated version of Organizer on a Stick, with the latest version of all three programs – RPCEmu 8.14, RISC OS 5.22 and v2.24 of Organizer – at the Southwest Show.

Snippets – 24th December 2011

Version 1.01 of Kevin Wells’ Simon Clone, Kevmon, is now available. An new ‘expert’ level has been added in this version, featuring eight coloured lights along with the usual four in the normal game. According to Jeff Dogget, Fat32FS, the filing system for USB mass storage devices on the IYONIX and BeagleBoard based computers, is now at version 1.39. This release fixes a bug with drives greater than 256GB. In My Diary, the Organizer-like program by Kevin Edwards for Windows, Mac and Linux, is now able to use Organizer’s Journal…

Pi in the sky – or, at least, near Heathrow Airport For those interested in the Raspberry Pi, the RISC OS London Show (29th October, 2011, St Giles Hotel, Feltham) will be well worth a visit, since the tiny, low cost computer is set to make an appearance.
