Kevin Wells has released another update to KevNav, his application for planning how to get from A to B. It works by using Wget to relay a start point and destination to the Transport API website, retrieve the results, and display it in a window in the RISC OS desktop.

If you come to RISC OS from another platform, or use any alongside it, you will know there are many features on those other platforms that are lacking on RISC OS. Some of those features can actually be quite useful, and would be beneficial to have, not least for the benefit of people trying RISC for the first time, so that they are more comfortable using it.

The inaugural virtual show hosted by the Midlands User Group (MUG) took place on 2nd July – and being an online event, it’s no surprise that the various presentations were recorded with the aim of making them available online after.

The Acorn Archimedes range was launched in June, 1987, which means RISC OS – with its original name of Arthur – also saw its first release, making it thirty five years old this month. With that in mind, this month’s RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) meeting will be a celebration of the operating system’s new legal status as old enough to realise it’s closing in on 40, and therefore officially very old.
