With last year’s London Show becoming a virtual event because of the pandemic and associated restrictions, the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) has announced that this year’s event is to return to its physical form!

KPDFUtil updated to version 1.05
Kevin Wells’ KPDFUtil has seen another update, bringing it up to version 1.05. The application serves as a front-end for PDFUtils, allowing a number of its features to be accessed from the desktop, rather than the command line.

And the date for the 2022 show published. The guest speaker at the next Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club (WROCC) meeting will be Alan Adams, with a project that has weaved its way through the years from its starting point on a BBC Micro to its current platform, a Raspberry Pi.

Open for approximately three months, the 2020 RISC OS Awards poll covering 2020 ran from April until June of this year, and received 141 valid votes. The results were calculated a little later than planned, but making a change from the normal approach of publishing them on Twitter and then the Awards website, this time around they were presented live at the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) meeting on 16th August.

Kevin Wells has released a point update to his application for generating QR Codes. New in this version is the ability to create a QR Code for geo-location purposes, containing longitude and latitude information. The program has also had a small bug addressed that could result in a notable delay when fetching QR Codes of a certain size. The software uses Wget to make use of the QR Code Generator website, and it was the use of an asterisk rather than an ampersand when fetching that caused the delay.
