R-Comp releases OS update for ARMiniX and PandaLand

First notable example of ARMX6 development benefiting other hardware. R-Comp have released an upgraded operating system for users of their PandaBoard-based ARMiniX computers, and for PandaBoard users who are subscribed to their PandaLand support scheme. Released just a week before the Southwest Show, at which R-Comp will be officially launching their new i.MX 6-based ARMSX ARMX6 computer, the update appears to largely be a result of work done for the new machine.

But do try not to have nightmares! Kevin Wells has released a new version of MPData+, his application for keeping tabs on UK local MPs. The software is designed to retrieve a variety of information about local MPs from the TheyWorkForYou website, displaying some of it – such as their name, constituency, party, the date they entered the House of Commons, and more – in a window on the desktop.

Fat32fs filename fix (updated)

Small update brings BIG LETTERS! Jeffrey A. Doggett has released a new version of Fat32fs, a module that was written to provide a means for RISC OS computers to access FAT12, 16 and 32 formatted storage devices that are greater than 2GB in size (a limit that has been raised to 4GB in RISC OS 5.20). The new version of the module addresses an issue in respect of how file names are displayed.
