News nybble: PiTools and 4téTools 1.21 released

R-Comp‘s support packages for the 4té and Raspberry Pi 4 (on which it is based) have both been updated, with the latest versions – 1.21 – both available to download. In the case of PiTools, that’ll be via !Store, and in the case of 4téTools, from the users’ download site, detailed in the machine’s support documentation. The reason for the update is that an issue cropped up with some of the LockScreen options, which have now been resolved.

4téTools gains new features in version 1.19

So is it now 4té-something-Tools? Were there 4té of them before? With a trip to Amsterdam1 coming up, to attend the Big Ben Club RISC OS eXperience, at which R-Comp‘s Andrew Rawnsley is planning to show off 4téTools as part of his talk, the company has announced a new version of the software. Sporting a range of new features for both 4té and Sixteen Hundred 4té2 users, the software is now at version 1.19.

The next RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) meeting will take place on 14th December, which is a week earlier than it normally would – the second Monday of the month rather than the usual third. This month there will be a talk on behalf of RISC OS Developments Ltd about some of their projects, given by Andrew Rawnsley, followed by a talk about the latest R-Comp products, given by (checks notes) Andrew Rawnsley. And following…

R-Comp’s 4té now shipping, with new additional software

The new 4té computer, first shown by R-Comp‘s Andrew Rawnsley at the recent virtual London Show, has now started shipping to customers that have already ordered them – and while R-Comp says it will take two to three weeks to fulfil those back orders, that does mean there is still time to order one if you want yours to arrive in time for Christmas.

The Southampton RISC OS User Group will next meet on Tuesday, 14th May, from 7:00pm until 9:00pm, in the Sports Centre of Itchen College, Deacon Road, Southampton.
