Recoding the classics – ROUGOL meeting, 17th January
Jeroen Vermeulen will be the guest speaker at the next RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) meeting, which will take place as hybrid online and in-person event on 17th January, at which he will be talking about how he ported five games to RISC OS.

Back in January 2020, the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) moved from their previous home of some eighteen years to a new one, after the old pub had unexpectedly closed. With the arrival of the coronavirus on the UK’s shores and the subsequent lockdowns, however, the meetings moved online after only a small number of meetings at the new venue. Last November, Gerph gave a talk to the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) on the subject of Pyromaniac, which he initially launched earlier that year as the RISC OS Build Service, and discussed how it came about and how it was developed, and its practical use for testing things. One year on, he is returning to the group to give a follow-up presentation, to update the group on what he’s done with it since.

Organised as an online event last year because of the pandemic, the RISC OS London Show is returning to the physical world this year, and will take place on Saturday, 30th October, at its customary venue: St Giles Hotel,Feltham,TW14 9AD. The doors will be open to the public from 11:00am until 5:00pm, with an entry fee of £5.00 for adults – under-16s can get in for free.
