Elesar‘s award winning Titanium motherboard has run RISC OS 5.23 since it started shipping in late 2015, with a Linux variant also available, but having two computers for two different operating systems is a bit of a waste of desk space, so wouldn’t it be easier to be able to try out Linux with only a mouse click?

Show report: Southwest 2016
If I’d finished this two days ago, there might have been a 28 Days Later movie reference here! Oh wait, there still is! This year’s Southwest Show took place on 27th February, and while this year it attracted fewer paying customers through the door than last year (more on that later) there was still a positive vibe, and people – both visitors and exhibitors – seem to have enjoyed the day. So much so that, with next year’s date already set, all but two of this year’s exhibitors have already…
Three meetings in the next few days: RONWUG, MUG, and ROUGOL
It’s not like they’re buses or anything, but… Three user group meetings will be taking place over the next few days, with the first of the three – RONWUG – taking place tonight. The second will be the MUG meeting on Saturday, and the third the ROUGOL meeting on Monday. So, a quick look at all three in that order:
RISC OS Awards 2015 results
The RISC OS Awards poll for 2015 officially drew to a close in mid-February, with the votes being counted and initially announced on the @RISCOSitory Twitter feed about a week later – and those results have now been published on the RISC OS Awards website, and – where possible – the winners will be formally notified by email today.
See double* at the Southwest Show with Titanium
And you won’t even need to go to the bar first! The Titanium motherboard from Elesar Ltd features a pair of DVI-I video connectors, each of which is capable of driving a 1920 x 1080 display, with full 24-bit colour – and visitors to the the Southwest Show on Saturday will be able to see it doing just that, with both video outputs being utilised to display a single desktop spanning two screens.
RapidO Ti to be launched at the Southwest Show (updated)
The first full computer to be based around the Titanium motherboard from Elesar Ltd will be launched at the Southwest Show on Saturday. The computer is to be called the RapidO Ti, as already revealed, and comes from the little shop with a lot of stock, CJE Micro’s – and Chris Evans says they’ll have some on the day that customers will be able to take away with them.
Titanium comes to London user group meeting
Group’s first meeting of 2016 sets a high bar for the rest of the year! Unless you’ve been asleep since just before the recent London Show, you will be aware of Titanium – the subject of a surprise announcement the night before the show. Developed by Rob Sprowson of Elesar Ltd, Titanium is a new motherboard designed from the outset with RISC OS in mind.
4D officially announces competition winner
Computer with no name christened RapidO Ig instead of the Eastwood1. Although result of the the Name that Tune Computer competition run by 4D (the younger sibling of CJE Micro’s) was revealed at the recent London Show, it hadn’t been officially announced.
