As the countdown until this year’s Southwest Show ticks over into the final twenty four hours – the show takes place tomorrow, Saturday, 22nd February at the Arnos Manor Hotel in Bristol – a few press releases and announcements have found their way to me. I can’t spend any real time crafting individual articles this time around, so instead here’s a round-up of show-related news that has come my way since I posted a show preview.

News nybble: Buy from Elesar now, collect on Saturday
If you’re heading towards the Southwest Show in Bristol on Saturday, and there’s something you’ve been thinking of buying from Elesar Ltd, now is the time to do it. The company is once again offering a ‘click and collect’ option for physical goods, which shaves off the postage cost for physical goods. If the option is chosen when an order is placed, nstead of the goods being posted out, they will be brought to the show for collection there – just pop along to the RISC OS Open Ltd stand…

It was the dawn of the third age of mankind second venue for the RISC OS Southwest Show Since its inception, each and every Southwest Show until this year’s had been held at the Webbington Hotel in Somerset – a grand total of twenty one shows, with twenty years between the first, which took place on 7th February, 1998, and last year’s event, which took place on 24th February, 2018.

Better late than never, but not as late as last year – so that’s something, right? This year’s Southwest Show took place on Saturday, 24th February, at the Webbington Hotel and Spa – the same venue at which it has been held every year since its inception. This year’s show was therefore the 21st, marking twenty years since the very first one, held in February 1998. There was therefore cake – which you missed out on if you didn’t come to the show, and which everyone who was present enjoyed.…

With the most recent Southwest Show having taken place in February, the organisers revealed the date of the 2019 event at the time of the even more recent Wakefield Show last weekend. It is now just two and a half weeks until this year’s Southwest Show, which will be taking place at the Webbington Hotel, its home since the first one took place all the way back in 1998. With there having been no show one year – I believe in 2000 – that makes this the twentieth Southwest Show.
