The next meeting of Bristol RISC OS Users will take place on Wednesday, 8th January. The meeting will start at around 7:00-7:30pm, though some members may arrive earlier, and continue until closing time at:
The Eldon House pub,
6 Lower Clifton Hill,
Bristol,
BS8 1BT.
The meetings are nothing more than a gathering of like-minded people with an interest in RISC OS, Acorn, or anything remotely related, congregating on the pub for a discussion over a bite to eat and a pint. As such, there are no membership or entry fees, and anyone is welcome to come along and join in.
Being informal, there are no set topics or presentations, but recent news and events in or related to the world of RISC OS tend to come up in discussion – so with the RISC OS Southwest Show taking place on 22nd February, with a number of Bristol users exhibiting, it is sure to come up.
Similarly, some attendees like to bring along their latest pet project to demonstrate to the group – so don’t be surprised to see one or more items appear on the table, and don’t be afraid to bring something of your own along to show off, or even something you need a little help with.
For drivers, parking is on-road but metered, so be sure to bring some change to feed the meter. For anyone coming by public transport, a number of major bus routes pass through Queens Road and/or the Triangle, which are just a few minutes walk away.
The pub itself serves a selection of real ales and soft drinks, and there is usually food available.
The group also has a mailing list that any RISC OS user is welcome to join, local or otherwise.
