Bristol RISC OS Users (BRU) meet regularly, on the second Wednesday of every second month, and this month’s meeting therefore falls on the 9th. The group’s meetings tend to be fairly informal – a handful of like-minded people getting together for a pint and a bite to eat and a general chinwag, with one or other of them sometimes bringing along something interesting and relevant to RISC OS to focus that chat.

With some notable exceptions, the history of RISC OS on laptops has never been great. Acorn themselves only ever launched one RISC OS laptop – the 24MHz, ARM3-based A4 – in 1992. The next Midlands User Group (MUG) meeting will take place online, using the Zoom video conferencing system, from 2:00pm on Saturday, 2nd October, with a discussion topic inspired by the cancellation of this year’s London Show and the scarcity of active user groups.

The meeting is cancelled. Long last the meeting. The RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) normally hold their meetings on the third Monday of each month, meaning that the next meeting was scheduled to take place tomorrow evening – Monday, 19th September. However, with the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II taking place earlier in the same day, the decision has been taken to not hold a normal meeting.
