Midlands show returns as a virtual event
In recent months, particularly in announcements for their user group meetings, you may have seen references to a show to be organised in 2022 by the Midlands User Group – a resurrection of their old Midsummer MUG Show. And if you happened to look on RISCOSitory at any point over the last few days, you may well have noticed that a banner has appeared in the sidebar for just such a show. Pi… Camera… Action! (And erm… RISC OS?) Although most laptops these days include webcams, as do some normal monitors even, the Raspberry Pi has its own camera module and a number of third parties also supply cameras for the device. At the next Midlands User Group (MUG) meeting, John Rickman will be talking about cameras for the Pi, and exploring what you need to use one.

And the date for the 2022 show published. The guest speaker at the next Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club (WROCC) meeting will be Alan Adams, with a project that has weaved its way through the years from its starting point on a BBC Micro to its current platform, a Raspberry Pi.

The 2021 Wakefield Show will take place online next Saturday, 24th April, from 10:30am until 6:00pm – and you now have the opportunity to register for the event, which you’ll need to do if you wish to attend via the Zoom video conferencing system.

If that’s where you choose to watch it – which may depend on the device you use (and the weather) The next Wakefield Acorn & RISC OS Computer Show will take place on Saturday, 24th April, 2021 – almost exactly one month from today – and like last year’s London Show, it will take place online using the Zoom video conferencing system, and simultaneously streamed on the Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club (WROCC) YouTube channel.
