Show report: London 2017
The question on everyone’s lips for countless years to come will be “Where were you on 28th October, 2017?” Okay, they probably won’t be asking that – but I’m asking it now. Well? Where were you? I’ll tell you where I was: Feltham. More specifically, the St Giles Hotel – in the conference rooms on the first floor, where this year’s London Show was held. If you weren’t there, I’ll assume you’re reading this because you have an interest in RISC OS, and would like to know what you missed.…
Show report: Wakefield 2017
The newly established record for how long it takes to publish a show report is broken again! Er… yay?
News nybble: London Show theatre talks revealed
There is now less than a week to go until this year’s London Show – it takes place next Saturday, 28th October – and as well as the extensive line up of exhibitors, there is now a very full theatre programme. When he emailed exhibitors a week ago, ROUGOL‘s Bryan Hogan listed the main five talks, and asked if anyone would care to give short snappy talks of five to ten minutes – and it looks like that request has been answered. In alphabetical order, that line-up in full is:…
Show report: Southwest 2017
Seven months on? This must be some kind of a record! The RISC OS Southwest Show this year took place on 25th February – so this show report sets quite a record for the time between the event and its appearance at just under seven months. Unfortunately, this is a reflection of the amount of time I’ve had available in that intervening period to sit down and write the report. Which is to say: very little. To make matters slightly worse, I usually refer to the photos I’ve taken at…

The platform’s premier event in the North is in its regular venue at the Cedar Court Hotel near Wakefield, and there are over twenty exhibitors confirmed as attending.
Wakefield’s on the horizon – so what’s in store?
This year’s Wakefield Show takes place on 22nd April, so it’s time for a brief look at what’s in store for visitors – and judging by what’s on the show website, along with other factors, it very much looks as though there could be something interesting afoot. The starting point for suggesting that is a 4th April entry in the “latest news” on the show website’s front page, which notes that a short additional slot has been added at the start of the day’s talks in the show theatre. Being…
Show Report: Wakefield 2014
I never knew the RiscPC tasted so good! This year’s big RISC OS event in the North – the Wakefield Show – took place on 26th April, so it is once again time to put pen to paper fingers to keyboard, and write about it for the benefit of those who were unable to attend. As usual, the show took place in the Cedar Court Hotel, Denby Dale Road, just off junction 39 of the M1 – the same venue in which it started some eighteen years ago (making this…
