ROUGOL goes back in time

Well, sort of – through emulation, not temporal manipulation! Realising that people can’t time travel – not even within their own lifetime – members of the RISC OS User Group of London will step into the Quantum Leap Accelerator Blue Eyed Maid and, rather than vanish, will find themselves enjoying a presentation about a BBC Micro emulator for Android devices.

WROCC meeting tomorrow: The Interweb and its latest RISC OS goodies

Cat videos, cat videos, cat videos, and more cat videos. Possibly some software, too. Finding its way to the RISCOSitory bunker at all but the last minute1, the Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club have announced the topic for their next meeting, which takes place on 1st June – tomorrow (Wednesday) evening. The speaker for the meeting will be Malcolm Hussain-Gambles, developer of software such as NewsUK and WeatherUK, and he will be talking about ‘The Interweb’ and some of the latest goodies for RISC OS that can be found online.

Paul Emerton talks media preservation at ROUGOL, 16th May

Chap who may or may not be from the future talks about equipment from the past1. The next meeting of the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) is one that will be worth a visit from anyone interested in the recovery and restoration of old Acorn kit and material found on disc media, and archiving that material for posterity – in particular, equipment and media that was used by the BBC in their ‘Special Projects’ unit.
