Southwest Show – final round up of pre-show news
As the countdown until this year’s Southwest Show ticks over into the final twenty four hours – the show takes place tomorrow, Saturday, 22nd February at the Arnos Manor Hotel in Bristol – a few press releases and announcements have found their way to me. I can’t spend any real time crafting individual articles this time around, so instead here’s a round-up of show-related news that has come my way since I posted a show preview.

If you’re heading towards the Southwest Show in Bristol on Saturday, and there’s something you’ve been thinking of buying from Elesar Ltd, now is the time to do it. The company is once again offering a ‘click and collect’ option for physical goods, which shaves off the postage cost for physical goods. If the option is chosen when an order is placed, nstead of the goods being posted out, they will be brought to the show for collection there – just pop along to the RISC OS Open Ltd stand…

The 2019 RISC OS London Show took place on Saturday, 26th October – and once again (speaking as an exhibitor) seemed to be a buzzing, exciting show with plenty for the visitor to see and experience. Six months on from the show itself… that’s almost as long as the Long Gap between the Wakefield and London shows! Ahem. The place to be for discerning RISC OS users (and retro Acorn enthusiasts) on Saturday, 27th April, was Wakefield – more specifically, the Cedar Court Hotel in Calder Grove – because that was where the annual Wakefield Acorn and RISC OS Computer Show took place.

The latest issue (37:7) of the WROCC (Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club) newsletter has been sent out, and tucked away within it at the bottom of page five is a piece of show news: The next Wakefield Show will take place on Saturday, 18th April, 20201. That’s the weekend after Easter and exactly eight weeks after the next Southwest Show, itself seventeen weeks after the London Show – which is two weeks from today.

Hang on, have I written the Southwest Show report yet? Ah, yes. What about Wakefield? Er… The countdown until the end of the Long Gap, when the RISC OS London Show takes place, has now ticked down to twenty days. It takes place on Saturday, 26th October at the St Giles Hotel, Feltham – so I hope everyone has their travel (and if necessary hotel) arrangements made, and that the show will be busy with plenty of visitors.
