News nybble: Mike Cook talks to WROCC on 7th November

The Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club (WROCC) next meets on Wednesday, 7th November, and the guest speaker will be Mike Cook. He will be showing the group the projects he has been working on over the past year, including oscillators and oscilloscopes. London meeting: Acorns in Aerospace – 15th October

That’s the aerospace industry, not the space above a Nestlé facility1. If you want to find out all about the use of Acorn computers in the aerospace industry then you need to head for the nation’s capital city on the evening of Monday, 15th October. Midlands User Group’s September meeting cancelled

The next meeting of the Midlands User Group, which was originally planned for Saturday, 15th September, has had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. The group usually meets on the third Saturday of every ‘odd’ month, so the next scheduled meeting is Saturday, 17th November. Tony Bartram of AMCOG Games is expected to appear as the guest speaker for the November meeting, subject to confirmation closer to the date – so keep your eye out for an announcement as that date draws near.

Meet the mini.m and see the si.zeRO in London on Monday

Both small, but still visible without the use of a magnifying glass! This year’s Wakefield show (report coming to be started soon at some point) saw the launch of a new computer from R-Comp, called the mini.m. The system is most easily described as a mini version of the ARMSX ARMX6, squeezed down so that it fits in a cube measuring just two inches in each dimension.
