Chris Cox coming to ROUGOL in February

Although there is a rather notable date rapidly approaching in the RISC OS calendar, which should be first and foremost in everyone’s minds, it could be worth getting out those diaries (or running Organizer) to note down another interesting date.

That date is 18th February, and the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) meeting that evening will feature none other than Chris Cox as the guest speaker.

As long term RISC OS users should know, Chris was one of Acorn Computers’ main public faces, appearing at many shows, and also as head of The Clan, Acorn’s official club for users and enthusiasts, having joined the company in 1994. His initial role was Marketing Manager for the enthusiasts sector, and two years later became manager of the Computer Business Unit following the formation of Acorn RISC Technologies.

Chris will be talking about his time working for the company, offering an insight into the successes and failures, and of course the fateful final days of Acorn.

The meeting will take place from 7:45pm at the usual venue:

The Blue-Eyed Maid,
173 Borough High Street,
London,
SE1 1HR.
