The purpose of the application, as you might guess from its name, is to make it easier to fill in forms online. It does this by sending text it has stored directly to the cursor – which means that form data could also be used for other purposes; any short piece of text you refer to a lot, such as URLs, could be stored in Form Filler to save you typing them…

Kevin Wells’ recently released KPDFUtil, which provides a front-end for some features offered by PDFutils, has already seen its first update. Version 1.01 now includes support for extracting images from PDF files, with options for all images, or just those found on a certain range of pages. The new version also benefits from some minor corrections, such as the alignment of PDF file names now being consistent, and the icons having a length far in excess of what was necessary.

Kevin Wells’ BusTimes application provides a means for RISC OS users who travel by bus to look up information online about particular stops – retrieving the times for buses that stop there, and additional route information about them. It does this by using Wget to communicate under the hood with the TransportAPI website.

Kevin Wells has updated StreetFix, his software that allows RISC OS users to report problems to local authorities, such as potholes, broken street lights, etc. Using Wget, the software interfaces with the FixMyStreet website to do this. It can also be used to look at existing reports, and version 1.02 of the software allows those reports to a GPX file – which can then be loaded into suitable mapping software to see where those reports are about.
