Hot on the heels of his update to BusTimes, Kevin Wells has released a new version of TrainTimes, an application that performs a similar function for trains. The software uses Wget to interface with the Transport API website to retrieve information about train times and stations, presenting the results in the RISC OS desktop. Version 1.16 gains the ability to save a station’s timetable in CSV format for importing into other applications, and a redesign of the Save dialogues.

Scroll wheel support added to BusTimes and TrainTimes
The wheels Windows on the bus screen go scroll round and round up and down… Kevin Wells has released updates to two of his applications – BusTimes and TrainTimes – bringing them up to versions 1.16 and 1.15 respectively. The update adds scroll wheel support in both cases, so where they present a window that can be scrolled vertically, the wheel is now functional for that purpose.

Kevin Wells has followed up his recent update to BusTimes with a similar one to TrainTimes, bringing it up to version 1.14. While the purpose of BusTimes is to provide RISC OS users with access to bus stop timetable and bus route information via the Transport API website using Wget, TrainTimes offers similar facilities for trains and stations, and the update to version 1.14 allows station timetables to be saved – either the current time, or one chosen by the user.

Kevin Wells has released an updated version of his TrainTimes application, which can be used to look up the trains due at a given station, to help planning any upcoming trips. Version 1.10 benefits from a bug fix that prevents it crashing when first run if a station had more than ten trains. The new version has also been updated to comply with a requirement of the Transport API website, which it draws upon as a data source using Wget.
