Talking RISC OS North in London – 17th March

The last RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) meeting before the next show – RISC OS North – will take place on Monday, 17th March, and that very show will be the topic of the evening; a pre-show fireside chat with Richard Brown of RISC OS Developments Ltd and Orpheus Internet taking the floor.

With the show itself taking place just twelve days later, Richard has been ultra-busy – he’s both one of the co-organisers of the event, and still has to do his Orpheus Internet day job. However, he is taking an evening out of his schedule to join ROUGOL members in the pub.

That busy schedule means this won’t be a formal presentation – it’ll instead be a more informal ‘fireside chat’ and a Q&A session. Richard will be happy to answer whatever questions people may have about the show, or about what’s happening at RISC OS Developments.

With that in mind, if you are planning to attend the meeting, it’ll be worth having a little think – is there something you’d like to ask, or a suggestion you might have? This is a good opportunity to put your queries, comments, and ideas to Richard.

There are two ways to attend this meeting. Firstly, you can do so by turning up in person at:

The Duke of Sussex
(Upstairs in the Chichester or Petworth Room)
23 Baylis Road,
London,
SE1 7AY.

ROUGOL provides directions to the venue, which is easily reached by car or public transport – and joining them at the pub means you can ply Richard with drinks and chips to try and tease more information out of him.

Joining the group in the pub is the better – especially if the guest speaker is doing so – but if that’s not a practical solution, the second option is to attend virtually with Zoom. To do this, you’ll need a suitable device on which the software can be run, along with the meeting credentials. The device you use is entirely in your hands, but if you need the credentials (which are the same as previous months for anyone who has joined previously), ROUGOL can provide them.

The meeting’s official start time is 7:45pm, but if you’re heading for the pub itself there should be ROUGOL-types lurking from around 6:30pm, and if you’re joining online, the Zoom meeting is usually open from around 7:30pm.
