It’s time to drag yourself away from whatever else you might be doing and drop yourself off at a certain London pub (or in front of your computer) for the next RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) meeting, which takes place on Monday, 21st April, and features Chris Dewhurst talking to the group about Drag ‘n Drop.
Started back in 2009 by Paul Stewart, and taken over by Chris in 2012, Drag ‘n Drop is a quarterly magazine published in PDF format, which can be read on most modern devices. Intended to be easy to read and featuring a mix of news, reviews, programming, and other features, the magazine is suitable for RISC OS users of all technical abilities.
As well as the magazine itself, Chris has also published a number of books – which can be purchased either in similar electronic format, or as physical items – covering WIMP programming, games development, Draw tutorials, and more.
You can attend the meeting in person – and with if you’re extending the Easter weekend into a longer break from work, this could be an ideal time to do some sightseeing in London – by dragging yourself along to:
The Duke of Sussex
(Upstairs in the Chichester or Petworth Room)
23 Baylis Road,
London,
SE1 7AY.
And you can attend online from wherever you are (as long as you have an internet connection and a suitable device) by using Zoom.
There will be ROUGOL members lurking in the pub from around 6:30pm, and the Zoom meeting will open from 7:30pm to give people time to join – the meeting proper will commence from around 7:45pm.
There are directions on the ROUGOL website for people joining in person, and if you’re joining online you’ll need the meeting credentials – these remain the same as usual, but if you haven’t previously joined a meeting you can get these by contacting the group in plenty of time.
