Graeme Shrimpton will be talking about TWimp to the Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club (WROCC) at their next meeting, which will take place on Wednesday, 7th May.

TWimp is a module that makes it much easier developing applications that run in the RISC OS desktop. Most of the window, icon, and menu handling is defined in a text file, with a lot less needed in the main program, which means programmers can devote more time to making their programs do perform their main tasks.

Graeme will be demonstrating the ease with which a multitasking program can be written with TWimp by doing just that – he will use it to create an application.

The start time for the meeting is 7:45pm, and it be held online using the Zoom video conferencing software. The only things you’ll need to join are a system on which Zoom can be run, and the meeting credentials. These remain the same as previous meetings, so if you’ve attended any monthly WROCC meetings you should have them, but if not they can be obtained by contacting the group.

Although the meeting is open to any RISC OS user, regardless of WROCC membership status, it’s well worth supporting the group by joining; the cost is just £10 each year, and you get the group’s self-titled monthly newsletter sent to your inbox as a PDF file, along with access to their online discussion forum.
