Festive fun in Wakefield – 5th December

What? Festivities already? But it’s still 55 weeks until Christmas!

The next meeting of the Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club (WROCC) is to be held on Wednesday, 5th December, at:

West Yorkshire Sports and Social Club,
Sandal Hall Close (Off Walton Lane),
Wakefield,
WF2 6ER.

Kicking off at 7:45pm, the plan for the meeting is for it to be “an evening of festively-themed fun” – with seasonal treats such as mince pies.

The Club’s Peter Richmond will provide some entertainment with a fiendish-but-fun quiz with a computer theme, for those in attendance to puzzle over and tear their hair out.

WROCC membership includes free entry to meetings, but non-members are welcome to attend almost all of them (the exception being the AGM, which takes place in January) in return for a modest £3.00 entry fee. With the group’s meetings held monthly, and often featuring an interesting speaker, annual membership is well worth considering at £15.00, discounted to just £7.50 in the first year.

Other benefits of membership include a newsletter, delivered as a PDF by email and access to a discussion forum and to a members-only section of the website.

Looking beyond the aforementioned AGM in January, the next meeting for which there are details is scheduled for 6th February. The guest speaker for that talk will be Andy Marks of RISCOSbits.

Looking further ahead, the Wakefield Acorn and RISC OS Show 2019 – which WROCC organises – is set to take place on 27th April at the Cedar Court Hotel.
