Upcoming user group meetings – Southampton, Bristol

Pub time! (Or college centre time, depending where you are!)

Announcements/reminders of two user group meetings taking place this week have been made – one of which is very last minute.

Southampton

The January Southampton RISC OS Users Group meeting takes place tonight (13th January) at Itchen College Sports Centre, Deacon Road, Southampton, running from 7:00pm until 9pm. Dave Higton posted his notification of the meeting to comp.sys.acorn.announce yesterday evening, apologising for it being late.

The reason for the apparent tardiness is that he had been unable to contact the college; he visited the venue in person yesterday to find out if there was a problem (which might have prevented the meeting from going ahead) and found out that their telephone line had been damaged by building work that is taking place.

The meeting will take place in the College Centre, as usual, which is the open area with tables and chairs, adjacent to the Sports Centre reception desk. The car park entrance is accessed from Deacon Road, opposite Whites Road.

Dave will be bringing along a selection of RISC OS computers, and encourages others to bring theirs.

Bristol

The January meeting of the Bristol RISC OS Users takes place on Wednesday, 14th January, running from around 7:00-7:30pm, and continuing on until closing time. The venue is the Hope and Anchor pub, 38 Jacobs Wells Road, Bristol, BS8 1DR.

Informal in nature, the meetings are simply a group of people with an interest in RISC OS, Acorn, and anything related, getting together for a chat and a drink (and in some cases a bite to eat – the pub serves a good selection of food), and are open to anyone.

The group also has a mailing list that any RISC OS User is welcome to join – local or otherwise.
