Those builders just won’t stop drinking that tea!
For a few month’s now, each announcement of a RISC OS North West User Group’s meeting has included a warning that the group may have to meet in an alternative location – and this month is no different. The meeting takes place tomorrow evening, 21st October, and once again there is a possibility that ongoing refurbishment work may prevent access to the usual room.
The group normally meets on the third Wednesday of each month from around 7:30pm at:
Organiser Steve Potts says that, as before, people who wish to attend the meeting head for that venue as usual, and look for his blue Ford Focus in the car park. If it is there, the group will either be in the building or near the car – but if it isn’t there, unless you’re there before Steve or anyone else has arrived (which should be between 7:20pm and 7:30pm) Plan-B has probably been brought into play.
Plan-B involves heading to a nearby pub called the Buck Inn. To find it, you need to leave Finnybank Road and turn right onto Glebelands Road. According to Steve’s instructions, the Buck Inn is at the crossroads where Glebelands Road becomes Buck Lane – while Google Maps suggests Glebelands Road becomes Green lane, and the pub is at the crossroads where Green Lane becomes Buck Lane. However, whichever of those is correct, it’s a case of going in the same direction once you hit Glebelands Road, until you reach a crossroads with the Buck Inn on the corner. Then you carry on past the pub, to find the car park just beyond on Buck Lane.
