Prophet 4.06 now available

A minor update to accounts package Prophet is now available from Elesar Ltd. The software was originally developed by Apricote Studios (now known as Accountz), and hadn’t seen any further updates for many years until Elesar stepped in and took on sales and further development to the package. Initially ensuring it was fully 32-bit compatible, and therefore fully functional on modern RISC OS systems so that anyone still using it could be assured of still being able to do so, the company has also added an important (optional extra) feature…

Prophet 4 brings MTD support to RISC OS

From the start of April, any business whose turnover is above the threshold for VAT registration has a new set of rules to comply with, falling under the banner of ‘Making Tax Digital‘ (MTD). VAT records must now be maintained ‘digitally’ (which in this context means ‘in computer software’ rather than paper records), and returns must be submitted online by suitable software, rather than manually logging in and keying in the figures, or posting off a paper return. There is a growing list of software available that can be used…

The software, originally developed by Apricote Studios (now Accountz) and now maintained and sold by Elesar, is available to new customers for £97.20 including VAT, or for £68.40 if upgrading from any 3.xx version. And for those…

It was originally written by Quentin Pain and sold through Apricote Studios (now Accountz), and as of earlier this year it is being looked after by Rob Sprowson and sold through Elesar Ltd.

One such package, however, has been given a new lease of life – Prophet, originally written by Quentin Pain of Apricote Studios…

Show report: London 2021

30th October, 2021, marked the return to physical shows in the UK, when the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) hosted their customary October event at the St Giles Hotel in Feltham – the RISC OS London Show. Understandably under the circumstances, there were fewer exhibitors than in previous years, as well as few visitors; it was a much quieter show than usual – but despite that, it was still an excellent day for finding out what’s happening in the RISC OS world. So what happened? What did we…
