Builders may have spent too much time drinking tea.
The RISC OS North West User Group is next scheduled to meet tomorrow – 16th September. According to Steve Potts, however, while the meeting is set to go ahead, it might not take place in its usual venue.
That venue is the Trafford Metrovick Rugby and Cricket Club, but it’s likely that some building refurbishment work could still be in progress, which would prevent access to the usual room. Steve suggests, therefore, heading to the venue as usual, and look for his blue Ford Focus in the car park.
If you see it, the group will either be in the building or near the car. If you can’t see it, that probably means Plan-B has been invoked, and the group has headed to the Buck Inn, a nearby pub.
Or it could mean you’re really keen, and have arrived before anyone else, so make sure you wear a watch to decide which of those two possibilities is most likely – the usual meeting time is 7:20pm for 7:30pm (and tends to run until around 10:00pm).
The starting point on this possible scavenger user group hunt is:
Finnybank Road
Sale
Cheshire
M33 6LR
If (you aren’t early, and…) can’t see the car, you need to head for Glebelands Road: Leave Finnybank Road and turn right onto Glebelands Road, and the Buck Inn is – according to Steve – at the crossroads where Glebelands Road becomes Buck Lane. However, according to Google Maps, Glebelands Road becomes Green Lane, and the pub is at the crossroads where Green Lane becomes Buck Lane. To get to the pub’s car park, don’t take the left turn when you see it – drive past and the large car park is just past the pub on Buck Lane.
