Two RISC OS user group meetings are taking place in the next few days, one in Bristol and one in Southampton.
The first is on Tuesday, 9th May, from 7:00pm until 9:00pm, and is the Southampton RISC OS Users Group. There is no entry fee, so anyone with an interest in RISC OS is welcome to attend and bring any hardware or software to demonstrate, try out, seek help with, etc. There will be a small network of RISC OS machines, hopefully with internet access.
The venue is, as ever:
Deacon Road,
Southampton.
The entrance for the Sports Centre car park is on Deacon Road, opposite White’s Road, rather than Middle Road, which is the official address of the college. The group meets in the College Centre, an open area with tables and chairs by the Sports Centre Reception desk.
The second of the mid-week meetings is Bristol RISC OS Users, with the meeting taking place on Wednesday evening – so that’s the 10th May – and runs from around 7:30pm (though some members may arrive earlier) until the last of the group is kicked out of the pub.
The pub? Yes:
38 Jacobs Wells Road,
Bristol,
BS8 1DR.
Meetings are simply an informal get together of like-minded people, meeting up for a drink, possibly a bite to eat, and a chat. There is no admittance fee, and the venue serves a range of real ales, and soft drinks for those who drive, as well as as a selection of food.
Parking is on-road, with some local roads metered, and some free after 6:00pm, and for those who prefer not to drive, a number of main bus routes are nearby – look for those heading for Queens Road, The Triangle, or Park Street, all of which are just a short walk from the pub.
