Expanding his range of applications that use Wget as a way to allow RISC OS users to look things up online without having to worry about whether their web browser will be able to cope with the website, Kevin Wells has released KHolidays.
The purpose of the application is to find the dates of public holidays, and it’s able to do so for 115 different countries, showing the dates for the twelve months from the chosen date – with a date range that covers the last five years as well as the next five.
The program can also display some basic information about the selected country, as well as whether today (subject to the time zone, of course) is itself a public holiday, which might be useful if you’re thinking of making an international call.
The information is looked up via the application programmer interface of the nager.date Worldwide Public Holiday website.
If you find any of Kevin’s software useful, why not consider rewarding him for it by buying some merchandise or with a small contribution.
