The time has come once again for RISC OS developers, and anyone with an interest in the subject – perhaps as a beginner, or someone thinking of dipping their toes in – to gather around the virtual fire for a friendly chat. The next such meeting will take place on Saturday, 3rd August, kicking off at around 7:30pm.
Taking place online, using the Zoom video conferencing platform, these meetings take place on a semi-regular basis, with the date of the next meeting decided at some point during the current one.
They are a way for anyone developing on (or for) RISC OS to meet up from the comfort of their own home, and discuss programming (and platform) matters – and for people with less knowledge and experience to discuss issues they may be experiencing, or areas they are having difficulty understanding, and get help and support from those with more experience.
Much of the meeting will be conversational in nature, but sometimes developers show off what they’re working on, and occasionally participants might get to see how-to videos and similar that may or may not be ready for publishing on YouTube.
The only thing you need to join the meeting are an interest in RISC OS development, together with the log-in credentials. Those details remain the same as previous meetings, so if you’ve joined one before you should already have them – otherwise here’s how to obtain them:
- You can contact Andrew McCarthy on Twitter or Mastodon – or indeed from your RISC OS computer using ChatCube.
- Or you can send an email to me here in the RISCOSitory bunker. Please note, though, that any emails sent to me on the day of the meeting itself will not receive a reply until very close to the meeting’s start time!
