MUG meeting at Recursion 2016

The Midlands User Group normally meets on the third Saturday of odd-numbered months, with the exception of July. Until 2014, the monthly meeting coincided with the annual Midlands Midsummer MUG Show, which the group organised for an earlier weekend in the month – and since then, a similar approach has been adopted with the group attending Recursion, a more general computing event with a focus on education.

The event – more fully titled the Recursion Computer Science Fair – is held at the King Edward VI School in Stratford-upon-Avon (punch CV37 7HB into your sat-navs), and this year takes place on July 2nd. The doors are open to the public from 11:00am, and entry is free.

Other exhibitors from the world of RISC OS include AmCoG Games, Ident Computer, ROUGOL, Soft Rock Software, and others, so there will be a few familiar faces to talk to about matters relating to our operating system. If you have any interest beyond RISC OS – and in particular if you have any younger members of the family still in education – then it’ll be worthwhile coming along and exploring the rest of the event.
