The RISC OS User Group of London usually meets on the third Monday of each month and, for December, that means the meeting date is 21st December – tomorrow. With a meeting date so close to Christmas, seasonal demand means the usual meeting place may be unavailable – so the group doesn’t arrange a formal meeting in December, and instead plans a more informal gathering.
The usual meeting place is upstairs, in the Spice Lounge restaurant, at:
173 Borough High Street,
SE1 1HR.
For December, the address is the same, but the meeting is expected to be downstairs, in the bar.
Since it’s a more informal meeting, there is no set topic or speaker. Instead, it is an opportunity to discuss what has happened in the RISC OS world over the past twelve months, and speculate what the next twelve may bring – and to do so over a drink and some pub grub.
The pub is a five minute walk from both London Bridge and Borough tube stations, making it easily accessible by public transport, and there is ample cycle parking close by. For drivers, Congestion Charging ends at 6:00pm, but you’ll need to think carefully about parking – which is restricted at all times on double red lines, and best left until after 7:00pm to park on single red or yellow lines.
Looking ahead, the group’s first meeting in 2016 – which is scheduled for 18th January – starts the year off in style, with that meeting featuring Rob Sprowson of Elesar Ltd talking about Titanium, the new motherboard designed from the outset with RISC OS in mind, with plans for the February and March meeting still to be confirmed.
Looking even further ahead, the next London Show – which is arranged by ROUGOL – will be taking place on 29th October, 2016.
