ROUGOL meeting – 20th January – T-Wimp

Following the developers’ fireside chat on Saturday evening, the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) meeting just two days later will also be of interest to people interested in software development.

The guest speaker will be Graeme Shrimpton, and he will be demonstrating a development aid that he’s been working on for some time. The software is called T-Wimp and its purpose is to make it easy to write fully multi-tasking applications using textual descriptions for the windows, menus, and icons, allowing developers to concentrate on the core of what their software does, rather than spend time grappling with the many WIMP calls they would otherwise need.

As part of the demonstration, Graeme will write a complete application to show just how easy it is to develop software with T-Wimp.

Taking place on Monday, 20th January, the meeting will be a hybrid one, held online using Zoom, and in person at:

The Duke of Sussex,
(upstairs in either the Chichester or Petworth Room),
23 Baylis Road,
London,
SE1 7AY.

The start time for the talk itself will be 7:45pm, with the Zoom meeting being ‘open’ from around 7:30pm, and there will be ROUGOL members online at the pub from around 6:30pm.

The pub is very easy to reach via public transport, and there is parking right outside for anyone coming by car – there are directions available on the ROUGOL website.

For online attendees, as well as a device on which to run the software, you’ll also need the meeting credentials, and these are unchanged from previous ROUGOL meetings. If you haven’t joined one previously, or can’t find those details, get in touch with ROUGOL to receive them by email.
