New Pinboard 2.07 and Iris 1.031 from RISC OS Developments

RISC OS Developments are behind the next announcement in my queue, so over to Richard and Andrew for this joint announcement:

RISC OS Developments is pleased to announce the release of two new software updates ahead of the RISC OS North show next weekend.

Pinboard 2.07

Pinboard 2.07 is the latest version of the enhanced Pinboard/desktop which we launched last year.

It adds the ability to “iconise” sticky notes so that they don’t take as much desktop space, and improves saving of stickies for more natural behaviour.

Occasional icon drift with irregularly sized icons in certain modes has been addressed, as well as a couple of potential crashes.

The cut-off at which the transparent iconbar effect removes the black edging has been increased to 50%, although this remains configurable via a system variable.

Users can download 2.07 from the RISC OS Developments website now.

Iris 1.031

This is the latest edition of the Iris web browser.

This is something of a beta release, offering improved functionality and a new update to the main webkit engine. Because it represents a significant engine update, there may be areas which need further tweaks, hence the beta state. However we were keen to make sure users had a more recent build to play with.

Smaller changes include save/restore of sessions, optional separation of processes to minimise the impact of crashes/problems, and updates to default search engines etc.

You can obtain the latest Iris by clicking the “Iris updates” link on the default browser home page.

We hope to see as many of you as possible at the Show, and look forward to catching up with you all there. Enjoy the software,

Best wishes,

Andrew & Richard
