Kevin Wells has released yet another application that makes use of Wget in order to relay information to and from the application programmer interface (API) of a website, giving the user easy access to the data it provides. This time the application is designed to look up information about a phone number, and is called PhoneVal.
The full description of PhoneVal is that it’s an ‘International Phone Number Validation’ application. Fed with a phone number and country, the software will communicate with the remote API – this time the Number Verification API from API Layer (from whom you will need to register for an API key). The application will then be able to display some basic information about the number, which can be saved as either plain text or HTML.
The software also comes with a number of language packs, allowing it to be used in English, Dutch, French, German, and Italian.
If you find any of Kevin’s software useful, why not consider rewarding him for it by buying some merchandise or with a small contribution.
