Just in time for this year’s Wakefield Show, this year taking place a little way along the road(s) in Bradford, a new version of Messenger Pro has been released by R-Comp.
Messenger Pro 9 includes a number of changes, headlined by a move to the new AcornSSL security module for its connections – i.e. POP, SMTP, and IMAP. This change means the software is compatible with the latest SSL/TLS standards, and thus with modern mail services.
Connected with this, with Gmail’s security protocols having changed by a notable amount recently, the guide to using the software with the service – and there is also now guidance for using it with Hotmail/Outlook.
Other changes include improved compatibility with email clients on mobile phones, better switching between IMAP or POP accounts, and more.
Messenger Pro 9 is available on !Store now, and will be available to buy at the show on CD for £20.00 as an upgrade from earlier versions. The CD option will include a voucher to allow it to be downloaded from !Store, and version 8 users can order a free upgrade (via !Store – not on CD) by including a ‘special instruction’ (including a note of your purchase date) in the box when ordering.
