Final Doom released for modern machines

Announcement from Andrew Rawnsley, 7th April, 2016.

R-Comp Interactive is please to announce the availability of a new version of the popular Doom game on !Store. This is based on Final Doom (to help clear our shelves a bit), and contains 70+ action packed levels, plus multi-player and mod support.

The game now works correctly on modern RISC OS systems including ARMX6, and for the first time on RGB/BGR swapped systems such as Titanium.

One particular area we’ve put a lot of effort into with this release is the music. Several different soundtrack options are available (you may recall the Doom traditionally only supports MIDI playback), including a new high quality digital soundtrack (optionally) in place of the MIDI. This was recorded from top-of-the-line original equipment to give the best Doom audio experience possible 🙂

This release includes the two, full, 32 level games that form Final Doom, plus the classic first episode of the original Doom to get you back in the swing of things.

The game supports a huge array of add-on “pwads” – extra missions and total conversions, for almost infinite entertainment. It is compatible with the levels from our previous “Doom Trilogy” product for those who bought it back in the day.

Final Doom is priced it at £11.99 (i.e. £9.99 +VAT) which we hope folks will find agreeable. We can attest to the fact that this game is still huge fun to play, and testing this new version has been a great pleasure!

You will likely find !Store in your Apps folder, but you can also download it if you don’t already have it.
