Announcement from Steve Potts, 12th July, 2015.
RISC OS North West User Group – 15th July, 2015;
Venue disruption and no August meeting
RONWUG’s next meeting is this Wednesday, but…
Possibly not quite at usual place!
We’re going to attempt to meet at the usual venue, but have been informed that there will be some building refurbishment work underway and as such are unlikely to gain access to the usual room. So the plan is as follows:
When you arrive at the sports club, look for my blue Ford Focus in the car park. If it’s there, we’ll either be in the building, or near the car. If you’re a little later than usual and there’s no sign of my car or the usual suspects, it will probably be the case that we’ve invoked Plan-B and headed off to “The Buck” pub, further down Glebelands Road to the west of Finnybank Road.
If you leave Finnybank Road (usual exit) and turn right, The Buck pub is at the crossroads (where Glebelands Road becomes Buck Lane) – the 9th left turn along Glebelands Road. The pub has a large car park – drive past the pub (not taking the 9th left turn) and go around the back.
As usual there will be time for discussion at the beginning and end of the meeting about all things RISC OS related. See you there!
Please remember that there will be no meeting in August, due to it being the holiday period. Meetings will resume in September, but we may still have venue disruption as above. Announcements will confirm arrangements nearer the time.
RONWUG Meetings – members, location and times
Meetings are open to all interested in RISC OS computers and there are no membership or entrance fees. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:20pm for 7:30pm.
Finnybank Road

There will be RONWUG members at the venue from around 7:20pm, and probably until around 10:00pm (but you can arrive and leave whenever you like). There is no certainty that the bar in the club will be open, but there is an off license and a Chinese takeaway a few minutes walk away (and a pizza parlour slightly further – do ask if you would like directions to any of these). There should also be tea and coffee available at the venue itself. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
Members frequently bring their hardware and software problems to the meetings and there is usually time for such even when we have a formal speaker. Ring Steve on 0845 4 7472 69 to check we have access to any equipment you may need.
The venue is just a few hundred yards from M60 J7, with plentiful free parking right outside, and easy ground floor access. It is on the bus route from Manchester city centre, and is also about fifteen to twenty minutes walk from Dane Road Metro station. Contact us by pone or email if you need more details.
