Wakefield Acorn and RISC OS Show, 26th April, 2014

Announcement from Steve Fryatt, 19th March, 2014.

This year’s Wakefield Acorn and RISC OS Computer Show will be taking place on Saturday, 26th April, 2014, at its familiar home of the Cedar Court Hotel near Wakefield. Organised by the Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club, the north’s premier RISC OS event is now in its nineteenth year.

Details are still being finalised, but we can confirm that we currently expect the lineup to include:

  • Archive Magazine
  • CJE Micro’s
  • Drag n’ Drop
  • FlaxCottage
  • Jason Flynn
  • Jess Rowbottom
  • MW Software
  • Orpheus Internet
  • R-Comp and R-Comp Interactive
  • Retro Hardware
  • Retro Software
  • RISC OS Open Ltd
  • Sine Nomine Software
  • Soft Rock Software
  • Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club

We’re still adding names to the list, however: keep checking the website for the latest information along with details of what each of the exhibitors will have with them for you to see and buy.

The format will be similar to that of previous years and will once again include the popular Show Theatre with a range of talks covering the RISC OS market. We also expect the Raspberry Pi to feature heavily on the day. The charity stall will also be present, raising money for Wakefield Hospice once again.

More information about the event, including the location of the venue and how to get there by car or public transport, can be found on the show website – the site will be updated as more information becomes available.

If you are interested in exhibiting at the event then there are still a few places available: please contact the show organisers for details. Email can be sent to show2014@wakefieldshow.org.uk and alternative contact details are on the website.

Advertising banners in a couple of standard sizes are available on the site for anyone who wishes to help us publicise the event via their own website. Full instructions are supplied with the images. Full page adverts are also available in PDF and bitmap formats if you would like to help us spread the word.

The show organisers, WROCC, celebrated their 30th Anniversary in 2013. More information about the club can be found on their website.
