About a month has passed since the last RISC OS Show, held in London, and everyone should by now have had a chance to recover – and begin thinking about the next show. This would normally be the South West Show, which is followed within a month or two by the Wakefield Show. Sadly, no South West Show has yet been announced – and if it doesn’t go ahead, then that will be a great shame after the success of the last one, at which the ARMini was first shown in public and Sophie Wilson appeared as a guest speaker.
However, the Wakefield Show will be going ahead as usual: The Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club have just issued an announcement that the 2012 show will take place on Saturday 28th April. No prizes for guessing where – as the announcement says, “The north’s premier RISC OS event will once again be taking place at its familiar home of the Cedar Court Hotel near Wakefield.”
Although details of the show are still being finalised, the format will be similar to that of previous years and will once again include the popular Show Theatre with a range of talks covering the RISC OS market. More information about the event, including the location of the venue and how to get there by car or public transport, can be found on the re-launched show website, which will be updated as more information becomes available over the coming months.
Those interested in exhibiting can contact the show organisers by email, or by using the alternative contact methods on the website.
Advertising banners in a couple of standard sizes, such as the one above or in the right-hand column of this site, are available for anyone who wishes to help publicise the event via their own website. Full instructions are supplied with the images. Full page adverts (A4 portrait and reduced landscape) are also available in PDF and bitmap formats.
See you there!
