PhotoDesk 3.25 now available

With the London Show now so close you can almost taste it – okay, I might be confusing the show with my snack – another software update has been announced by R-Comp, with immediate availability via !Store, and the option to buy at the show. This time the update is to PhotoDesk:

We are pleased to announce that version 3.25 of PhotoDesk is now available to download for existing users via !Store.

Following on from 3.24’s colossal number of changes, 3.25 is a much smaller affair, correcting a few things that slipped through and have been reported since:

  • “click_in_rotate” routine called “click_in_draw” with the incorrect number of parameters. Now fixed.
  • Resize and Rotate functions had Bi-cubic and Bi-linear modes swapped. Expected operation has been restored.
  • PNG files were being saved without compression, leading to very large files. Since PNG compression is lossless, this was not sensible, so PNGs are now compressed as you’d expect.

The update is available as a free download for anyone who purchased the XAT edition (3.18+) of PhotoDesk some years ago.

We will have a number of fresh CDs with 3.25 on at the London Show this weekend. We offer them as very low cost “stocking stuffers” for existing users. The CDs contain extra software (3.25 adds Chris Terran’s GradGrind palette editor designed for use with PhotoDesk) that wouldn’t fit in the regular download, plus extras like full sets of example images and documentation etc.

If you don’t have a CD drive, bring a USB stick (we do sell them, but they tend to be larger ones) and we’ll copy the CD contents onto the stick for you.
