Having recently updated TrainTimes to version 2.07, Kevin Wells has already brought out another new version of his application for checking up on railway timetables and other related information.
Version 2.08 sees the addition of ticket office opening times to the station details window. Kevin has also dealt with an oversight in the previous release, whereby he hadn’t taken into account of stations being added, changed, or deleted when allowing station details to be viewed from a sub-menu in the Change Station section of the application.
Like many of Kevin’s programs, TrainTimes provides a way for RISC OS users to access data from online resources by relaying things between the software and a remote API (application programmer interface), using Wget. In this case, the data is pulled from two different sources, Real Train Times (from whom, users will need to register for an API key) and National Rail.
