Portsmouth show date confirmed

Set a new date for your diaries: 28th September, 2013

Following RISC OS Open Limited‘s announcement of a proposed new show to be held in Portsmouth, originally slated for 20th July, which would have put it a mere week after the Midlands Show and may have proven difficult for exhibitors, the idea was taken back to the drawing board and some possible new dates considered, with 21st and 28th September being offered up as possibilities.

RISC OS Open have now confirmed the latter of those two dates, saying:

RISC OS Open is very pleased to announce in conjunction with Innovation Warehouse Portsmouth that we will be hosting a RISC OS Show on Saturday 28th September 2013.

Doors will open to the public at 11am and the show will run until 5pm. Entry will be free of charge to both exhibitors and visitors. If you are interested in exhibiting at the show, even as a one man band, please get in touch here.

The location of the show will be 2nd Floor, Innovation Space Building, 1 Hampshire Terrace, Portsmouth, PO1 2QF which is in a great central location in Portsmouth, with good transport links and parking in several nearby locations.

Full show details (including transport, parking, exhibitor information and so on) will follow in the next week. Please keep an eye on the RISC OS Open news pages for more updates.

We look forward to seeing you all there!

Interest in RISC OS has been receiving something of a boost recently, no doubt thanks to the Raspberry Pi which provides a cheap platform on which to run it – and on which it runs very well indeed – and with this new show RISC OS Open are trying to build on that, saying in the original announcement that the show would have the same format as the other RISC OS shows, but it would be marketed more widely, in order to try and attract people who might not already be regular users, particularly people who might like to consider using RISC OS to develop their projects and businesses.
