A pet mythical beast that’s for life, not just for Christmas
With Christmas fast approaching, there’s a festive funbox available from RISCOSbits for a limited period.
The RISCOSbits Chimera Christmas Cracker Edition (easier written than said – especially after those Christmas drinks) will be available for a limited period from today.

The seasonal special edition of the Chimera machine will be delivered fully built and configured – so it’s ready to plug in and use as soon as it’s unwrapped.
Based around a Raspberry Compute Module 4 with 4GB RAM and running RISC OS 5 directly from firmware on its onboard eMMC, it comes with a 256GB NVMe drive, providing fast storage. Connectivity includes HDMI output, two front and two rear USB ports, a gigabit ethernet port, and the whole thing is enclosed in an externally powered mini-ITX box, keeping things cool and quiet.
The machine is supplied only with a RISC OS ‘head’, but being a Chimera it can be expanded at a later date with up to five more – so you could add further RISC OS heads (perhaps for testing things if you’re a developer), Linux heads of different varieties, and more.
And the price for the machine is just £349, which is over £100 off the price of a basic Chimera – check the web page for the offer
for more details and to order.
