Bringing you the latest yesterday’s last week’s month’s YEAR’s news TODAY! Thanks to a previous engagement being cancelled, an unexpectedly free day means I can – finally – root through my archive of possible news and put together a snippets-post of things that really ought to have been reported on before now on RISCOSitory.

RISC OS South West Show 2014 report
There’s RISC OS in them thar hills! This year’s RISC OS South West Show took place on the first Saturday in March, rather than its more customary late February Saturday – although it has sneaked into March before – and now, just shy of two weeks later, I am finally able to sit at my own desk long enough to write a show report!
2014 Midlands Show announced
But blink and you might have missed it! The Midlands User Group have been announcing the date of this year’s Midsummer Midlands MUGShow – but they’ve been doing so by stealth, so it would have been easy to miss any mention of it. News of the show first came my way at the recent South West Show,
MBBack version 2.11 released
Announcement from Martin Bazley, 26th September, 2013 After an uncharacteristically long gap, a new version of the world’s most puffed-up and overcompensatory random backdrop chooser has finally made its way out into the wild, and is available to download.
New version of Star Fighter 3000
Announcement from Christopher Bazley, 15th September, 2013 I have released a new patch for Star Fighter 30001, a 1994 game where you fly a one-person fighter spacecraft around a mainly flat-shaded polygonal world shooting things, blowing them up, and collecting floating bonus coins.
Get ready to vote in the 2013 RISC OS Awards
Celebrating the best of the RISC OS world! Picking up the baton from those who have carried out RISC OS awards polls in the past – the Acorn press of old, followed by the Drobe, Icon Bar and RISCOScode websites – RISCOSitory is pleased to announce that it is conducting an awards poll to cover both 2012 and 2013. The poll – which will be combined with a simple survey to form a picture of the RISC OS landscape – will take place on its own website and, in time,…
Snippets – 22nd September 2013
Wake catch up! wake catch up! King news in a Catholic RISCOSitory style. When I resurrected the Snippets format back in July, I commented that it hadn’t brought me entirely up to date with RISC OS news and, with the Midlands Show fast approaching at that point, I predicted that I would very likely fall further behind again. In the period after the show, I’ve only been able to publish a few items on RISCOSitory – mainly show news, which I try to get online ASAP, even if I don’t…

ROUGOL taking RISC OS to Silicon Dreams – this weekend (updated)
We’ll always be together, together in electric silicon dreams* If you are in the vicinity of Coalville in Leicestershire any time from 5th – 7th July (today until Sunday), a place that could be worth a visit is Snibston Discovery Museum, Ashby Road, Coalville, LE67 3LN. The reason? This weekend marks the 2013 Silicon Dreams and Vintage Computer Festival, a combined event that “celebrates our silicon chip age.” The festival is obviously not limited to RISC OS, but amongst the exhibitors are ROUGOL – the RISC OS User Group of…
ARX, Arthur and RISC OS – what Paul Fellows said to ROUGOL
“we started off with the best machine in the world, ever, the BBC Micro model B” For their October 2012 meeting, ROUGOL (the RISC OS User Group of London, who organise the annual RISC OS London Show , this year taking place on 26th October at its usual venue, the St Giles Hotel, Feltham) managed to get none other than Paul Fellows to attend as guest speaker.
