Available in any colour you like, as long as you like bright green! The pi-top is a Raspberry Pi-based laptop that began its commercial life as a crowd-funded project in 2015, and CJE Micro’s released a RISC OS flavoured version in 2016 called the RapidO Top pi-topRO.

Get a wisp of a new product from RISCOSbits at ROUGOL – 20th March
At the recent Southwest Show, RISCOSbits‘ Andy Marks was showing off an early version of an in-development product, called Wispy – and Bryan Hogan has managed to get his hands on a pre-release sample, which he will be presenting to the RISC OS User Group of London on the evening of Monday, 20th March, 2017, when the group next meets.
pi-topRO – a proper portable RISC OS box
Finally, you can let your A4 cash in on its pension! Anyone familiar with the Raspberry Pi scene will be aware of the Pi-Top, a laptop computer based around the credit card-sized computer that was developed after a successful crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo in 2014 – and anyone familiar with the RISC OS scene will know that Chris Evans of CJE Micro’s and Fourth Dimension has, since London 2015, been talking about releasing a RISC OS version of the machine.

Can I stop being so busy now, please? Pretty please? Aw, go on… Observant readers will no doubt have noticed a low post count on RISCOSitory since the Southwest Show – a grand total of eight, in fact, including the show report itself, and this year’s April Fool. As is often the case, this is because I’ve been too busy to devote time to this site (or anything RISC OS-related in general).
Raspberry Pi range grows again
It was Pi time we had a new one. Today marks the fourth anniversary of the release of the original Raspberry Pi – and it is also the first year that the cheap, credit card-sized computer can celebrate its anniversary on the correct date, having been first put on sale on 29th February, 2012. And the Raspberry Pi Foundation have celebrated by adding another new version to the range: The Raspberry Pi 3.
Southampton RISC OS User Group meeting – February
It’s time for those Itchen for a meeting in Southampton to get together again… The second Tuesday of each month is the customary date for Southampton-based RISC OS users to get together for a meeting – so it’s no surprise to see an announcement from Dave Higton to say that the next meeting is to take place on 9th February.
