A selection of hitherto unreported items from the past few months. B gets beefed up to become B+ On 14th July, just a couple of days after the Midlands Show, the Raspberry Pi Foundation announced a new version of the Raspberry Pi. The Model B+ is the same size as its predecessors (give or take – well, take – about half a millimetre or so in one dimension) but features an improved layout and specification.

Show Report: Wakefield 2014

I never knew the RiscPC tasted so good! RISC OS Awards 2012/13 results

Is that a drum roll I hear? Voting closed a few days ago in the first annual awards poll to be run by RISCOSitory on the RISC OS Awards website, and the votes have now been calculated – on RISC OS, of course! In most cases, the winner achieved notably more votes than any others – and in some cases that amounted to more than half the votes. Snippets – 29th August 2011

Christopher Martin has announced the availability of version 1.20 of FFmpeg and FFplay. FFmpeg is a versatile, open-source, multi-platform video and audio conversion system and FFplay is a very simple media player built upon FFmpeg and SDL. Christopher has also released a new version, 2.13, of Murnong, an application for fetching and decoding videos from YouTube, this update having been made necessary due to changes implemented on the video sharing website.
