As with any computer system, when using RISC OS you’ll need software to run on it – and you’ll be certain to have some already. As an existing user you’ll have built up a collection of applications you use, and may want to add to it. And as a new user you’ll have discovered that there is some supplied with the operating system – though how much depends on how you got started – and you almost certainly will want to add to it.
If you’re a seasoned RISC OS User, you’ll know all about the operating system’s history, and you’ll be familiar with the people that look after it today – but you’ll want to find out the latest news. If, however, you’re a new user, or if are thinking of trying it out, you’ll want to find out more about it.
The last RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) meeting before the next show – RISC OS North – will take place on Monday, 17th March, and that very show will be the topic of the evening; a pre-show fireside chat with Richard Brown of RISC OS Developments Ltd and Orpheus Internet taking the floor.

With Wi-Fi and web browser! Some very welcome news from RISC OS Developments, just a couple of days before London 2024 is the release of RISC OS Direct 5.31 – which includes a new internet stack and Wi-Fi facilities, as well as Iris, the web browser the company has been developing for quite some time.
You might want to make a bee-line for the Harrow District Masonry Centre next Saturday to visit London Show, at which Chris Hall says he’ll be demonstrating what he believes is the fastest RISC OS computer.
