Six months on from the show itself… that’s almost as long as the Long Gap between the Wakefield and London shows! Ahem. The place to be for discerning RISC OS users (and retro Acorn enthusiasts) on Saturday, 27th April, was Wakefield – more specifically, the Cedar Court Hotel in Calder Grove – because that was where the annual Wakefield Acorn and RISC OS Computer Show took place.

At the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) meeting last night, Elesar Ltd‘s Rob Sprowson was the guest speaker, there to reveal a mystery new product – and having done so, the HAT is out of the bag so to speak. New toys from RISCOSbits at London
Saturday will be a Good Day to PiHard! There will be some new toys available from RISCOSbits at the London Show, which takes place on Saturday – new cases, docks for R-Comp‘s mini.m, and systems based around the Wandboard. In addition, the company’s website has been updated to reflect the new and existing range, with options to buy some items directly, rather than through eBay.
Show report: Southwest 2018
Better late than never, but not as late as last year – so that’s something, right? This year’s Southwest Show took place on Saturday, 24th February, at the Webbington Hotel and Spa – the same venue at which it has been held every year since its inception. This year’s show was therefore the 21st, marking twenty years since the very first one, held in February 1998. RISC OS Awards 2017 results
The latest RISC OS Awards poll, covering 2017, came to a close a on Saturday, 26th May – and the results are now known. The Awards website has been updated to show the results, and the winners (for whom I have contact details) will be notified by email later today, with direct links to the results so that they can be referred to on the their own websites. News nybble: Bristol RISC OS Users meeting – 14th March
Wednesday, 14th March will see the next meeting of Bristol RISC OS Users. The meeting is slated to begin at around 7:30pm, though some members may arrive earlier, and will continue on until closing time.
